Hey everyone, Happy New Year! I started MFP back in March, and for months I've been looking at all these wonderful success story posts waiting to post one of my own. I'm not quite at my goal yet, but I've come a long way since starting out. So, in the spirit of it being a new year I figured I would post my progress, even if just to help me see it for myself to motivate me for the last mile.
Before:
St. Patty's 2011, 199lbs. The most uncomfortable and awful I've ever felt.
During:
June 2011, 171 lbs. Starting to see the difference around this time.
Almost there:
Halloween 2011, 149lbs. I actually had 4 halloween costumes this year, probably because in the past few years I haven't been able to fit into any of the cute ones so I wanted to make up for lost time.
Mid-November 2011, 145lbs
December 2011, 140 lbs
I originally had a goal of 135, and I'm excited to hit that soon...but I'm also excited to see how much more in shape I can get, and probably lose more than my original goal (I'm only 5'0, 5'1 on a good day, so even a little extra poundage means a lot on my frame). More than anything though, I'm really pleased at how much my focus has shifted from just losing weight to being more healthy and fit in general. I started running in July and have done 3 5k's since then and am planning on a half marathon in March. It's really changed my life, and I have MFP to thank. Best wishes to you all!
