There is so much talk lately about the arsenic in apple juices and whether or not the levels are safe. However, I cannot find any info on which brands have the lower levels of arsenic or none at all. Does anyone know the best fruit juices I can serve my children?

Don't fret over the media hype. The amount of arsenic in any juice is much too low to affect the body.

Unless your kids are only drinking the apple juice, they will be fine. If you are very worried, you could always buy your apples locally and make your own juice for them. When apples are in season, I buy them locally by the bushel and press my own juice to order for the kids.

The amount of arsenic in apple juice is nothing to be concerned about. Dr. Oz overblew that big time. However, fruit juice is pretty unhealthy no matter what type you drinking. It's not dangerous per say, but it's a bad habit to get your kids into.

Sadly this is true. Juice is delicious, but unless you're using the whole fruit in the juice (like if you blend the whole fruit yourself) juices are really just a lot of empty calories. Occasionally they have some fiber, but that's about it.

My kids are still very little, and I allow them to have one glass of juice each day. Water is their drink of choice, but I will not be a mother who denies my children certain foods. They are kids, they get to have occasional cookies, juice, whatever.

Thanks for the help. Knowing that I serve my kids juice sparingly eases my fear of the "arsenic"
