I have been doing New Rules of Lifting for Women for a few months now. It's a total body routine that only focuses on major muscle groups, so there are no isolation exercises for biceps or triceps for example. But they do get worked during the other exercises.0

What kind of results are you getting? I just started yesterday (and I am SO sore today...all over, which is good!). Any tips on how to do the prone jackknife exercise (I'm less than graceful with that one--I think a couple of people at the gym got a good chuckle watching me attempt that one!)?0 -

I'm definitely stronger in my arms and legs. I have nice definition in my shoulders and I can feel my quads and my butt are firmer. I still have my stubborn belly flab, but that's always the hardest to get rid of and I really don't have all that much to go. Prone jackknifes are tough for sure! I would lay on the ball face down and roll forward until the ball was at my ankles. Then proceed with the exercise. Do it slowly and with focus. If you're rushing through the movement you're more likely to fall off.
Being sore is normal and is something you'll get used to. I like being sore, it tells me I did something right. My shoulders are pretty sore today. I am on stage 5 and used 25lb dumbbells for the first time.
Good luck with the program. Btw, there is a new rules of lifting group here that I belong to. People in various stages are there including a group that's just starting in Jan that you might want to check out. Just look for New Rules of Lifting under Groups.0
