So I know we always here all the horror stories of gym stalkers and creepers. But there's gotta be a flip side, right? Who out there has a happy gym flirting story? Anyone meet a bf/gf or spouse at the gym?

Since I got to the gym so often, I have got to know most of the people there. So while no romance has occurred, I have made some very good friends.

Honestly you couldn't pay me to join a gym. When I work out it's serious business, my kids will wake me up for absolute nonsense but they WILL NOT even come into the room if I am working out. If someone came at me with B.S. I'd flip. I work out at home where I can get it done, work hard and don't have to wait for equipment.

I gym I go to is small, it does not have a sauna, or pool. And the shower is only big enough for one person at a time.

Well hubby and I go to the gym together so the only flirting and romance is between us two!!! I know we're boring but after 3 years of being together (2 years married) and 2 kids later we are still in love. He can still cause butterflies in my stomach when I see him. !!! We have the greatest marriage......Sorry I had to brag.

My friend's been hit on more than he cared for and stopped going to the men's locker room altogether.

I pretty much stopped swimming when a creepy old dude was congratulating me on my weightloss and then put his hand on my bare stomach. And lingered!

i finally had to swtich which la fitness i went to. some creepo would not leave me alone and followed me everywhere around the gym! ugh! thank god there are a couple close by, oh and the eye candy at the new one was worth the switch lol

Gym flirting gone horribly WONDERFUL!! =] I met my bf at a support group meeting (for WLS), and we started talking and going to the gym together! We quickly became HUGE motivators for each other and dropped some serious weight... I've lost 99lbs, he's lost 178lbs! (Still trying to catch up to him, lol)... But to make a long story short, we're still going to the gym together, still continue to motivate each other, and couldn't be happier! It makes going to the gym exciting and fun... Although there are some horror stories here, lol, sometimes things do work out! =]

Years ago I had spent A LOT of time at the gym - ended up dating one of the trainers for about a year. So it does happen. (Needless to say, I was in the best shape of my life back then!)

I don't hit on ANYONE at the gym and I definitely don't want to be hit on while I am running on a treadmill sweating like crazy, no makeup, smelly, hair in ponytail, etc... I go to the gym to work out and focus and I would be annoyed if someone interfered with "my time"

I stopped going to the shower area at my gym several years ago because I could hear dudes banging in there. Worse... I walked by the shower area on my way to the bathroom and saw two dudes making out.

Oh yeah... when I used to take showers there, people kept knocking on the door. I kept having to yell "OCCUPIED, DAMN IT!"

It was Bally's in Rockville, Maryland. Nowadays, I try to avoid locker rooms altogether and work out at home when I can.

OMG! I've heard about the Rockville, MD Ballys!!! My ex roomie (who happened to be a gay male) moved from down there and he used to tell me about that Ballys. He said he wouldn't shower there for the same reason!! Actually Bally's are infamous for this apparently, b/c he said the ones in Philadelphia are the same way! He came home one day and said "what's the name of the gym you go to again, b/c I can't even shower at mine without getting hit on!" Needless to say, he joined Planet fitness with me the very next day!

We didn't MEET at the gym, but my hubby and I used to go and workout at the same gym... We were friends then... and then dating... and then eventually tied the knot LOL.... But, we didn't MEET there.... There was plenty of flirting... And everytime he would be working out behind me, he would say, "Motivation, Motivation, Motivation"!! LOL.... :laugh:

I am really IN THE ZONE at the gym, no time for 'flirting' although, I really enjoy the art of flirting .... I'm totally hard core when I'm there....

It's not so much a gay thing but that whole culture of such open sex. That's disgusting with gays, straights, dogs, cats and all forms of insects.

I don't know anyone, regardless of their sexual preference, that would find locker room sex appropriate, except maybe that guy I dated back in high school when we were 15. Grown adults banging at the gym reeks of desperation.

There's a chain of gyms here that are REALLY well known for this. The mens showers are a hot spot apparently.
