Fish Oil Capsules vs Krill Oil

Anyone try either of these? I've been told that fish oil gives a bad aftertaste? I think if I burped something that had a fish smell/taste it would make me literally sick. Does anyone have experience with this? Any certain brand names recommended?

For those who have taken one or the other, do you notice a difference in weight loss?

I don't think fish oil itself will prompt weight loss directly.

Essential fatty acids are highly useful for a number of processes, though, so they may help to maintain the systems you use to lose weight.

I use Nordic Natural's Ultimate Omegas. I have yet to have any fishy burps, though I have had them with other brands.

Maybe not with weight loss per sey, but it has a multitude of benefits. Our whole family is on them. When you encounter the "fish burps" this usually means that the fish oil is rancid. Switch brands immediately. Look for "distilled" or oil harvested from small fish to avoid high levels of mercury as well (one benefit of krill).

Brands that I trust are Nordic Naturals sold in health food stores and Purity Products online store.

I take Mega Red Krill Oil and I prefer it over the standard fish oil pills (smaller pills, no fish taste/smell/burps, etc). They are more expensive though so I am not sure if the health benefits outweigh the additional cost. I take them for a host of benefits but I can't say I have noticed any specific weight loss benefits.

i use flax seed oil and take one pill three times a day. when you buy flax seed oil pills make sure you look at the ALA. that is what you want. you need about 1500mg a day of ALA. each of my pills contain 550mg which is why i take three a day..and get the ones that are american made. they are more regulated than the other countries as to the sanitation of the pill.
