Introducing myself

I'm a mom of two children, married. You know the typical family. My husband loves food and with him, i've foolishly eaten like he does and gained way too much weight. My job is very sedentary. Stuck at a desk all day! Funds are low for a gym membership, plus with hub's being out of state working, no one to watch the kids. I need serious motivation in exercising. STuff I could do at home would be best. I've thought about doing jumping jacks, and pushups and crunches. But for some reason I dont feel like that would get me where I want to be. I need to lose at least 50 pounds the fertility dr said before she'd help us try to conceive again. After I suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2010. Here it is over a year later, and I haven't lost anything. It's depressing for sure. However, I want to go beyond that 50 pounds and I want to get back to 145 where I was at my healthiest, with the least amount of fat I've ever had on my body. I'm starting out at 260. I need some guidance.
Sorry if this sounded all jumbled up. As I wanted to get a lot out. So if anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it!

Welcome, glad you are here! The past few days I have really stuck close to this site. I joined a few months ago but I am just now trying to make it work. I relate to your story well, as my husband works out of town. I do find it easier when he is gone though to stay on track, simply for the fact that my meals are more on the vegetarian side (not completely but close) and I eat lighter. I still love my breads and sweets though, which can be my downfall. Anyhow, depending on where you live weatherwise, you could take the kiddos on walks, and if nothing else try a walking DVD such as one of Laslie Sansone's. I started last year with those and they did help quite a bit. Anyhow, once again welcome and feel free to add me if you wish!0

Don't worry you will get where you want to be. I do not know if you have Comcast cable or not, but you can go to the exercise television channel and find the exercise workout that is right for you there is something for everyone. I weigh 242 and just starting sweating to the dance cardio with Billy Blanks jr. I am gonna stick with this for now as I trim down I will try something more defining.
My name is Wanda and you can keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
Now get started on your new challenge and think where we could be by May, For now 50 lbs is a very realistic goal. If you want we can swap recipes.0 -

Welcome gwynb,
you will probably like the fact that you don't have to get out to get motivated. Make some friends at MFP and it will keep you from falling. It is what push me to continue knowing there a nice bunch of people strolling with the same problems than me. Excuse may poor English, I am francophone and I don't have the oppportunity to write often.... feel free to add me as a friend if you wish! :-)0
