Just had these for dinner with homemade Chicken Pot Pie! Usually we do the Bisquick version....but these are very good!

2 cup whole wheat flour (You CAN use 1 cup all-purpose flour+1 cup wheat...less dense)
3 tablespoons sugar
2-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons cold butter or margarine
3/4 cup buttermilk

In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk just until moistened.

Turn onto a floured surface; knead 6-8 times. Pat to 1-in. thickness; cut with a 2-1/2-in. biscuit cutter.

Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F for 18-20 minutes or until lightly browned.

Makes 12 Biscuits

Total Fat 4.1g
