Might be a silly question, but how important is watching your sugar intake? Should I focus on making sure not go over what MFP recommends?

I find that I quite often go over my sugar intake. It's less about how much sugar you eat and more what types of sugar. I eat a lot of fruit so I often go over on sugar, but that's fine. It's if that sugar is coming from soda or sweets etc that you definitely need to stay under! In the end calories are calories so as long as you stay under your goal you should be fine!0

I agree with Sophie that it depends on what kind of sugar. The natural sugar in fruit is ok but refined sugar, even though it can be equivalent in calories will just leave you craving more.0
