I'm wondering if anyone else has a spouse going through depression? I was diagnosed as manic depression in High school but have learned to cope with it and rarely have depressed moments. My husband hasn't been diagnosed but he's always stressed and cries a lot and I want him to see someone about it. Does anyone have any tips for living with someone depressed and how to support them? My family never really helped me and I really want to help him and be there for him

No tips just hugs. ((hugs)) I know for sure my husband is depressed but he doesn't see it and is running. So so hard to watch. :(

Other than finding information on line, the best 'go to' place is your own doctor. You have to find out what is available in your community to get help on the matter. In any event, don't under estimate the need to get help.

    Poor guy!

Can you convince him to see a counselor? Preferable a phychiatrist who can prescribe antidepressants for him, if he needs them. He may need to talk things through along with taking meds at the beginning.
