I run 5 miles everyday for a couple of months now and i have two questions if anyone has answers:

1. Do i need to take a break every x amount of days. I never do rest days I workout everyday.
2. I am only 20 but i have heard that runners usually have problems with their knees when they get older, how can i prevent that?

It all depends. Some people do fine running every day, many people don't. Some occasional rest is probably good though, do you have days where your legs are just not into it or don't have any energy?

As far as knee problems and injuries go, my personal opinion is that proper running form can keep you running injury free for many years. I think many people (even though they run a lot) don't have the best form and can cause thier legs & joints to break down over many years.

Just listen to your body and rest as needed.

I always say, you can rest when you're dead.

Do you run outside or on the dreamill?

I've run everyday for the last 5 months or so. Now my new training plan makes me rest on fridays, but i make up for that in weekend mileage. As Arc says, just listen to your body
