I have spotify premium so looking forward to making some play lists for my phone!

I love hip hop music and am looking for some good music that has a good fast beat to run to. Anyone have faves?

Also, I know with spinning the instructors pick the music based on beat per minutes. Anyone know how to do this with running?

i pace out songs on my treadmill. i know that certain ones have a 5.2 mph beat or ones that really get me moving faster. just pick some you think you might like and take them to the mill and see how they feel. that's what works for me.

I love to do this for both spin and treadmill. I find the cadence or turnover does speed up or slow down depending on song.
For spin I make my own hill route, slow going up, fast coming down, middle for flat.
For treadmill, I do a very narrow range since about 90 feels best to me.

The following utility will read through all your MP3's, and add the MP3 tag for beats per minute. And then show you the songs and their BMP. You can then reduce the list to your BPM of 70-90 (or whatever your range is), and make a playlist of just those songs.

I use Tempo Magic on my iPhone to speed up my playlist.

Today for the first time I ran with a metronome instead of music. Kept pace really well!

Thanks for this! I've been planning to look for some kind of app to do this.
