Getting back on track after sickness

Hello, everyone!
So, here's my situation. I have been sick for about a week now - had a bad sore throat and a temperature. I am starting to feel better now and after two or three days I would like to get back to exercising. The problem is that after sickness, I always feel sluggish and unable to do anything when I get to the gym. It's like all my strenght had vanished. I am afraid to get on the treadmill now, I am not sure how bad it will be.
Have you experienced this? Do you have any tips about overcoming this after-sickness thing?

Make sure you don't have a fever anymore, start slow and eat healthy. You be up to 100% in no time.0 -
I like taking 2 weeks or so and doing something completely different, So if you are a treadmill runner, start power-lifting, or do a kettle bell routine. If you have a body builder, hell do yoga. Its something new to do, and will provide some good results.0

Dont overkill yourself start slow remeber you are still recovering from the illness. Maybe start walking on the treadmill, build that energy back!!0

Sometimes a little bit of exercise is better than none. There's nothing wrong with easing into it. It's better than putting off going for another month. Even just a walk if that's all you can manage. If you're too sick to walk for half an hour then just rest until you can.0

I'm currently recovering from surgery and facing the same thing. I find that actually getting out and doing makes me feel better, even if I am exhausted after. I just started with walking. Back in the gym I just take things down a notch, doing only a percentage of what I did before. Honestly it is easier to just be and not do anything, especially on bad days. Today is a bad day for me, but some friends and I started a squat challenge and I'm still pushing to do that. Every little bit helps.0
