In 2011 one of my goals was to improve my health...with loosing some weight tacked onto the end of that. I read books, articles, blogs, forum posts, ect. Every snippet of information I could find on how to accomplish this without getting overwhelmed, discouraged or finding out I'm making things worse (splenda.... >.<*).

On a news blog I read once a week I found a link to this website: http://www.wordofwisdomliving.com/.

The idea this site had was to introduce 'Healthy Challenges' once a week. Just something to change about your lifestyle once a week. That appealed to me so I bookmarked it and started in on the challenges. Some were harder than others and took me a couple weeks to bring my habits in line. Others were a breeze. Some were easier than I thought. Like drinking water and limiting soda to once per week. Or only bringing home a piece of candy from the store, never a bag/box. Still others were not food or exercise related but they still are linked. Like surrounding yourself with good friends who support you.

The other thing that I've come to love about this blog is the writer. Skip is an older gentleman with lots of knowledge and wisdom to share. He always invites people to comment on his posts and is good at responding to questions. With his help and weekly blogs I've never felt better.

More amazing to me is how much my health has really improved. I've only lost a little weight (*positive understanding vibes to fellow PCOSers*) but I've lost inches all around. While my husband suffered from three sinus infections and multiple colds this year, I haven't even gotten a sniffle. Even during allergy season! We're exposed to mostly the same environments, moreso for me because I do all the grocery shopping. I only went to the doctor once this year for a physical/annual checkup. I feel great, have more energy and hopefully will loose more weight, given time.

I don't typically jump on a bandwagon and tell the whole world about my latest and favoritest blogs but this one is holding a special place in my heart from this past year so I wanted to spread the word in the hopes that it'll help someone else too.

Health and long life!
