HRM-Polar FT4

I received a Polar FT4 as a holiday gift. Not sure I will use it. Thinking of returning it. Any suggestions? Anyone have a HRM and find it helpful or beneficial?

I also received a Garmin Forerunner 210 that I have used the past four mornings and love it. It tells me calories burned, pace, and distance.

So you think a HRM would be useful to me?
