Headaches???

Ok first off before I get a bunch of "go see a doctor responses", I do not have insura

nce.

I am not new to diet. I have been on here since August and lost 10 pounds but I gained almost half of it back in December! :-( I have began losing it again but here is all the facts:

-I have had a headache everyday for the past 8 days!! Some have lasted only an hour, but today it has lasted 6 hours.
-I have began cutting out caffeine from my diet. I love diet coke but I have switched over to caffeine free.
-I was away on vacation December 9-17th and December 23rd-26th. During this time I didn't eat well at all and probably lost a little sleep.
-I had a 4 day weekend for New Years and still had a headache each of those days. One Friday I had a regular 20 ounce diet coke and still had a headache afterward.
-Last night I was up almost every hour.

I am thinking the headaches could be due to a combination of factors: less sleep, trying to cut out the caffeine and stress. However, I want them to go away!!! I didn't do a workout tonight because my head was throbbing!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Caffeine withdrawal migraines are THE worst. Even sleep won't make them go away. Day and night for about a week and a half if you go cold turkey.

If you're a week into withdrawal, you might as well stay off caffeine completely now. You're almost over it. (Unless you've been taking one of those headache pills like Excedrin or Anacin that contains caffeine. You'll get a rebound headache every day until you get off caffeine altogether.)

Remember that chocolate has very little caffeine but does have a similar compound called theobromine. If you're off caffeine, you may notice theobromine withdrawal if you miss your cocoa. Decaf tea or coffee may still have amounts of caffeine that are noticeable if you drink a large amount of them.

I think it's a combination of everything you said.. I've noticed a lot of exercise post from you.. Headaches can be a sign of dehydration. Are you getting enough water? I know a lot of people laugh at me but when i get headaches for more than 4 days i take a trip to the chiropractor.. The last time it happened for me it was instant relief. Have your other half give you a shoulder and neck massage.. I know you said that you don't have insurance Chiropractor care is not very expensive and is totally worth it :) I go about once a year so it's a myth that you have to keep going back...lol Hope you get some relief
