My biggest problem is my belly area. I had a pretty large baby so my stomach is pretty flabby. I was thinking of using protein powder with alot of ab work outs, would this help turn my fat into muscle and help me build muscle in this area quick. My fiancee has a couple different kinds and I really am wanting to give this a try!

I actually am taking the 100% whey protien now. My boyfriend got it and didnt like the flavor (Cookies and cream) So he asked if I wanted to try it since im starting to work out more and whatnot. I only have been taking this for a couple days but everyone says its a good idea to take this. Even my mothers trainer. I have been taking it right after I work out. Hope it works for you.

protein powder is only a way to get protein with less cals and fats than meat or other "nautral" sources of protein..I use it
fat will nver turn into muscle..it will either be burned up with exercise or caloric deficit or stay and haunt you like a bad dream or worse...grow in the dark
ab work outs will strenghen the muscles and tighten them but you cannot reduce fat in any one area
sensible eating and exercise...those boring truths is what works...when you can see them as not boring but exciting, you are on your way
good luck

Yep, no spot reduction possible. If you're only doing ab workouts and no other exercise, you could have a 6-pack under layers of fat, but you'd never see it without cardio and overall body fat reduction.
Like Dave said, protein powder is a good way to get your protein without the extra fat and calories. But make sure you calculate the protein powder calories into your daily log, because excess anything probably isn't good. Honestly, unless you're doing strenuous strength training or eat carbs and nothing else all day, I don't see the need for whey...just a thought.
Are you doing strength training?0 -
lol I am not only doing ab workouts. That's my biggest problem. I do some aerobics, jump rope, running up and down stairs, and walking. I have a couple DVDs I do, billy blanks boot camp, carmen electra and some pilates for stretching and such. I am rotating these along with doing sit ups, bicycle sit ups, other exercises for my legs, glutes and abs of course. I notice I don't have as much fat as much as maybe skin??0

How old is your baby? Your body will recover over time and depending on the shape you were in before your pregnancy.0

she is not a baby any more, it's been 2 and a half years. I was underweight before at about 117. I do not want to get back down to that size, I am currently 136.0

Protein shakes are good for supplementation.
I, personally like Jayy Robb protein. I can and do make a meal out of it...........0 -
Yea, I agree with the others...you need to lose the fat. Up the protein & cardio, and do some strength training (full body) to preserve and perhaps add some muscle. Make sure the diet is clean.0
