Breakfast Calories

I try to even out my calorie intake between the three main meals during the day (making room for 100 calorie snacks three times a day), but I have a question for you all...how many calories should I be taking in for breakfast? I start to freak out if I go over 300 calories (but that's only 2 cups of coffee, one packet of oatmeal and a tsp of peanutbutter)...I need your thoughts/advice.

As long as your daily, or even weekly, calorie totals are within your goal limits it doesn't matter when you eat the calories. During the week my breakfasts are usually 103 calories. On the weekends they maybe 3 or 4 times that much, or they may be the same.0

My calories are the largest in the mornings.....oatmeal, eggs and egg whites.....I feel so much better throughout the day!! I also WO in the morning prior to breakfast and pre-WO I have a banana for energy during my WO. Try to break up your meals into 5-6 to help you feel fuller throughout the day.....just a thought!!0

My breakfast is usuallly between 300-400 calories. I need that energy to start the day and it keeps me full until my snack 3 hours later. :-)0

If you aren't satiated by a 300 cal breakfast, you can skip the snacks and allot those cals to breakfast. Personally if i was on a 1200 cal diet like it sounds like you are, i'd either up my cals or eat a lot less meals, but larger ones. Something like 400cal lunch and 800cal dinner0 -

Me too. I generally start the day with coffee (ALWAYS!), then have a slice of whole grain toast with peanut butter, or oatmeal, or a slice of toast and one egg. Generally I am in the 300 calorie range but I always have a mid-morning snack (plain Greek yogurt, or almonds, or fruit, or a combo of any of those). I'll usually eat breakfast at 6:30-7 am, the snack around 10 am, and lunch somewhere in the noon hour. I am not an afternoon snacker for some reason, so lunch carries me until dinner at 6-7 pm.0 -
mines usually 5-6000
