I cannot, for the life of me, figure out if I am doing crunches correctly. I never feel any kind of muscle burn from them. Any tips?

This link has the best explanation of a traditional crunch I've ever seen.
Something a trainer told me once, that really helps is imagine that there's a string attached to your sternum that's lifting you straight up, not forward toward your knees. When I think about this, they hurt more (in a good way).:flowerforyou:0 -

If you want to maximize abdominal involvement in a standard crunch then flex your thoracic spine in a way that moves your chest towards your hips. Don't put any strain on your neck or shoulders and look upwards toward the corner of the room where the wall meets the ceiling.0
