I have to vent!

Ok so this morning I called the 800 number to order the Brazilian Butt Lift basic package which was 60 bucks. The sales rep was really nice and explained how great the program was. I was really excited about the purchase but then she begins to try and sell me other things as well like vitiamins, extra advanced DVDs, Webiste link (like MFP but 2.99 per month)

Each time i am telling her NO NO NO! On the phone with her for 20 mins. She's really pissing me off! I told her I was getting really irritated and I just wanted the basic package! She begins to laugh at me!!!! What the heck is that about!!!??? I told her if she didn't complete my transaction then I won't purchase anything at all!!! :explode: :explode:

I haven't purchased any workout stuff in years but my goodness it is ridiculous what you have to go through for a purchase!!!!

However, I am excited about the purchase after I came down from my pissivity! LOL!

I ordered my BB stuff online. They DO try to sell you extra stuff (annoying), but I think it might be quicker, and you don't have to deal with irritating people.

I love ordering online to avoid that too! So sorry it was so rough. Maybe next time say, "I am ordering this workout and nothing else"

I hate that, I avoid talking to anyone on the phone... the internet is my friend. I ordered Insanity from the website and they tried to sell me all that stuff too but it was just a click on the No button each time, no arguing with a person and no one to laugh at me. That was rude!

It wasn't the Brazil Butt Lift I purchased, it was Turbo Fire. I haven't done it yet. Sorry, by "BB" I meant Beach Body.

yep always order online from BB! :) (or anyone, IMO)

FYI- The reps are REQUIRED to do this, and most company's that do this REQUIRE them to go through the ENTIRE pitch, before they can finish the order. Even if you start it with "I ONLY want XYZ". They need to cover all the things they are required to mention. Period. They do not have a choice, if they want to keep their job.

Some company's even go so far, as requiring the rep to hear a certain number of "nos" before they can close the sale.

The calls are monitored, and the reps are penalized if they do not follow the scripting for the particular companys, product they sell. It effects their pay raises, promotions, and they can be disciplined if they are not doing correct procedure.

I know this as I used to work in Customer Service for one of the Largest companies in the USA, handing extended warranty's, for products purchased, from 100's of different companies and stores.

I also worked in the tech support computer repair division, for customers with extended warranty's on their new PCs.

Often these jobs are farmed out to another company, who Offers "Ordering Services". So its probably not even a direct Beach Body Employee you are dealing with. Just a company contracted by Beach Body for that service. Sadly, not all company's handle this as well as they should. A rep should never be rude, or laugh at you.

If it happens again - ask for their Supervisor.

Calls are all recorded, and randomly checked, and reps are supposed to always transfer a call to a Sup when requested. Then you can file a complaint on the phone, with the supervisor, and the sales person is coached or reprimanded. To many complaints and they are fired.

I was not in "sales" directly, but all calls have a specific format, at the request of each company contract, that reps must always follow.

Thankfully, I worked with one of the better companies in the field, we were always rated #1 in Customer Service every year. So we did not have to do the 600 question "harassment" sales formats, that some company's use. But It happens commonly.

Yeah, I fully get that - but I am so sick of constantly being bombarded with marketing, even after saying NO - it borders on harassment, if you ask me. (I'm speaking about American life in general - nothing to do with a specific company or anything.)

I swear, if I ever encounter this kind of thing, I'm going to say straight off - 'I know you're supposed to give me your pitch, but is this call being recorded? Great. You can tell your supervisor that if you try to sell me ONE MORE THING beyond what I called to purchase, I'm hanging up and not purchasing anything at all." And then follow through.

Harassment-by-marketing will only continue if consumers never demand that it be stopped.

I agree with this because I told the rep if she continues I wil just cancel the entire order. So you would think she would say OK and complete the order!

Some money is better than NO money at all!

yeah, but until people start saying, screw you, I don't want it at all anymore, they haven't lost anything and have no reason to change. Consumers might get pissed about stuff, but as long as they fork over the money, that's all that matters to the company.
