I suffer from the late night munchies!! I often hear people say that it is not good to eat after a certain time of day...but I find that I can stay under my calorie goals by eating less during the day and allowing for some extra calories in the evenings...I am wondering if anyone else has this issue and if they feel like thier weight loss is hindered by eating more calories late at night

The people who say it is not good to eat after a certain time are misinformed and should not be listened too. You can eat up right till you go to bed with no ill effects on weight loss

I try not to eat after 7...not because I think the calories magically go straight to my thighs or anything, but because late evening/night eating often really triggers me to binge. I have no idea why, night eating is a really bad thing for me. Kind of like an alcoholic stays away from alcohol, I have found it easiest to break the binging habit by not eating late. It has helped me lose a good deal of weight in the past, but I wouldn't recommend it for everyone.

Whenever possible I try to plan my day ahead of time. Most every night I have my last meal around 9pm. Usually 500 - 1000 calories. It's my belief that the "no eating at night" or "after 7" originated simply because most people consume their breakfast in the morning, lunch around noon and dinner sometime between 4- 7pm. Therefore eating after these three meals would likely put them in a calorie surplus. Meal timing and frequency do not effect weight gain, eating in a calorie surplus does.

I avoid eating before going to bed just because when I wake up the next morning I feel TERRIBLE for some reason. My stomach just aches.... :\

I have learned that even if I eat all day long....I still have an strong urge to eat at around 8 PM or whenever my day is done and I am sitting in front of the TV...I really do not think I can change this...I do generally skip breakfast....I am not hungry in the morning....probably because i eat so late at night...lol
