Confusion.. Stopped 'dieting' and started toning but GAINED

oh my gosh. i am so dissapointed and confused.. i stopped 'dieting' in july. went down 87lbs, and i stopped at 130.7lbs. it has been 6 months and ive gained 18lbs!! i am so dissapointed. im not sure if it is a mixture of muscle.. or i did something seriously wrong. i went from 1200 to 1800 cals but.. 18lbs? wow im so upset :(

    oh lady please don't fret, I'm almost sure it's muscle. In 3 yrs I gained 35 lbs so I'm not too happy. Just stay focused and continue to tone, as long as you're not bloating as much and your bum isn't bustn out of your jeans you have no worries, just drink plenty of water and continue to tone, you're doing fine hun! We all gain a little back when we lose alot, our bodies are just trying to readjust to a comfortable weight :) Hope this helps :)

    Hey Mandie,

    I wouldn't beat yourself up to bad. In the midst of toning, I'm assuming that you have been working with weights. It's possible that you've gained 18lbs in muscle mass and not fat. Increasing your calorie intake and not burning as much would also contribute. You have still made great progress! I'm looking forward to having as much success as you have.
