Eating out and MFP

My wife and I eat out a couple of times a week. I think one of the excellent habits MFP has instilled in me is doing advanced recon on menus and getting a general idea of what I should eat before I go. The more info I have, the easier it is to make healthier choices.

I know that I will not be able to use MFP for the rest of my life, so I'm taking the time now to really train my brain on how to eat healthier and how to plan ahead.

There are a lot of pitfalls out there, and you have to know how to navigate then so you stay on the road to a healthier self.

    Same here!

I know exactly what I will order in perfect detail before we leave the house.

    Why is that?

Same here! And on the rare occaision where we decide spur of the moment to go to lunch or our choice changes last minute (this happened the other week when the wait at our first choice restuarant was too long) I am better prepared to choose healthy from whatever my options on the new menu.

I think the poster was just meaning that things come and go and as awesome as MFP is you can't count on it always being here. The rest of your life is a long time. But, hopefully the skills we acquire on our weight loss journeys can carry us through come what may.

Mostly, because I'm hoping to live for another 60 years, and i doubt MFP will still be around by then ;)
