Dealing with muscle pain

I kinda like working out, but I LOATHE the week-long pains you get after the workout. Lunges have always been my go-to workout routine and afterwards it's a hassle to get on the bus, off the bus, sit down, stand up, pick-up my backpack, etc. Is there anyway to help the pain go away? I've tried one thing - but it requires more working out - and it has helped. But anything to relieve the pain faster would be awesome.

Ibuprophen, water, time. A hot bath.0

Three things that help:
1. Incorporating a stretch routine or a Yoga routine into your regimen. It helps you recover from muscle soreness from previous workouts and prepares your body for future ones.
2. Drink a recovery drink after working out to help your muscles recover. I use GNC AMP 60, but a lot of people just drink chocolate milk or mix some whey into some almond milk.
3. Drink your water. Lots of it.0 -

Oh yah! These are good too. Better than my suggestions.0 -
Try using Creatine. It increases water retention in the muscles and in my experience it makes a huge difference in how quickly you heal from a workout! I don't use it at the moment, in fear it might make my weight loss harder to judge. You have to remember to get all your water, and cycle on and off every month or so.0

I also have pain. Sometimes it hurts so bad, I can't think of anything else. I have found that ice, even though it doesn't sound attractive, can work wonders. Better than a hot bath. When that doesn't work, bengay does the trick, although bengay smells.0

what everyone said and plus make sure you give your body mucle 48-72 hours rest so if you do lunges dont work the legs for two to three days and see what happens .. maybe do less lunges until you get used to them too ..i hate lunges lol0

In addition to a good stretching cool down after, try to work out regularly, and ramp the intensity up over time. Once you are past the initial soreness, as long as you don't take extended (weeks-long) breaks, your pain will be mild.0

I usually go for a nice bubble bath if I'm sore. Electric heating pads or Magic Bags (if you have one) work well too.0

I randomly put some deep freeze gel on my hamstrings after a workout and it seemed to help, wasnt as sore as I expected the next day.0
