Lower Carb Food... help me with shopping list please?

Options
Hello Everyone!

I went to the doc today and he wants me to do a lower carb diet as nothing seems to be working. I am already eating pretty clean, he just wants me to go to limit my sugar (even with fruit) and eat mainly lean proteins and low starch veggies.

So please help me compile a shopping list and websites where I can find some good recipes for a lower carb diet. Mainly a shopping list, I have NO CLUE what I am doing.

Thanks peeps! I look forward to getting my shopping list ready and trying it out.
Any easy recipes would be great too. I am not a fancy schmancy cooker.

I am working with Physician's Weight Loss Center and I am on the FAST 800. That's 800 calories a day. 80grams of protein. Try and get your protein up and it will keep you fuller and burn fat and then you won't even miss the carbs! Feel the need to eat something crunchy? Try the Quaker Oats rice cake chips...watch the fat, some are better than others. I enjoy the Chocolate ones!

Veggies (no potato, corn or peas and watch the type of squash), cottage cheese, cheese (string cheese, laughing cow, babybel), greek yogurt, hummus, salsa (watch sugar content), nuts, seeds. I know a lot of people like pork rinds for snacking but I can't recommend as I don't eat them. If you are going to get veggies, go for berries.

And be careful with condiments. The Heinz low sugar (or One Carb) is pretty good. Almost no BBQ is safe.

Best advice is always look at the nutrition. Some yogurts are good for you but most with fruit are high in sugars. Many salad dressings are high carb especially if you get the light or no fat. When they take the fat out they replace it with carbs.
