Hi All- I just started working out this week and I'm looking for ideas on something quick and small that I can eat before a workout. It's right after work for me- so I only have time to grab something and usually only have about a half hour before my class. Thoughts??

I usually just eat a banana if I'm hungry before a work out.
Maybe a muesli bar is also a good idea?0 -
You want something small (100 - 200 calories. High carb, low fat with protein. You want something to stabilize your blood sugar but not overload you so you get sick.0

Have some protein.....a slice of whole wheat bread with a tablespoon of peanut butter, or a protein shake, some yogurt, cottage cheese, hard boiled egg, or a handful of almonds or mixed nuts. You need to fuel your body with protein before and after a workout to cause your body to burn efficiently and from fat rather than lean muscle.0

I always drink a shake before I workout.0

Nights when I go straight to my Zumba class from work, I try to eat a banana about 30 - 40 minutes before class begins.0
