Eating calories at night?

So...I'm still trying to figure out how many calories I can eat during the day so I don't have huge amounts left at night...like tonight - completely stuffed from dinner (like I literally could not eat another bite) and I need 757 more calories. That isn't a HUGE deal because I can fill it in with nuts later, however, I'm a little concerned to be eating that many calories at night. Will my body still burn them up or will they get stored? The last thing I want is to slow my metabolism, so I NEED these calories, but is it harmful to eat them so late or does it really not matter all that much?
