Charlie Horses/Pain in the ball of my foot?

Any guesses? After a long run or strenuous spinning class - the bottom of my foot near the ball and toe joints cramps up. It feels very similar to the charlie horses you get in your calves at night and the temporary relief is the same...I have to put my full weight on it in order for the cramping and pain to stop. But it always comes back...
I've have my shoes analyzed by running store employees, I drink a lot of water...so I'm not sure what it could be. The stabs of pain sometimes continue for hours after my workout... : /
Anyone ever heard of this? Or have a similar experience?
