2 steps forward one step back

Hello everyone,
I have been losing weight for the past 3 years I seem to lose like 30 pounds at a time (over the course of 3-4 months) then I plateau and start gradually gaining again. I went from 265 to 227 then a year later I was 236. then I went from 236 to 205. then a year later I was 213. Last spring I finally passed the 200 mark and went from 213 down to 194 and now I'm 213 again
The good news is I'm still overall losing weight but Its aggravating that I seem to not be able to maintain the weight loss. Does anyone else have problems like this? How do you break out of this cycle?
