hi just wondering if anyone has heard of this 'eat stop eat' intermittent fasting plan
have a friend who is a personal trainer who has suggested for me to try doing this eat stop eat plan, suggested 1-2 days per week to skip breakfast and lunch and says that i will definately double the amount of weight i will lose. apparently fasting increases the activity of fat burning enzymes where as i have heard opposite ie starvation mode

i mean that sounds all fine a dandy but i know what my body does when i miss meals, my hungry goes way out of control and end up losing motivation and gain the weight plus more

any suggestions please reply

It would probably work for those who can manage the feeling of being famished. I cannot handle being hungry. I end up ravenously eating anything like an insane person. It is rare if I can skip a meal. Though, I would love to cut out some calories like this.

One more thing, starvation mode means anorexia. In my opinion. I have along way to go before my body ever says, you are starving. I do agree with your trainer that not eating will trigger your body into using stored calories, up to a point.

There's something to the intermittent fasting approach, I think, but like anything, it depends on the person doing it. If you don't handle fasts well, you shouldn't do it. You definitely shouldn't do it if you're diabetic or suffer from other medical conditions that might make it dangerous.

When I fast (once a month, give or take) I drink plenty of water and I chew gum. I break my fast with a well-balanced meal. I usually eat a lot during that meal, but I still eat fewer calories than I would had I eaten 3 meals + snacks through the day. I never fast for more than 24 hours (usually more like 20). And, to be really honest with you, I'm usually cranky and I almost always get a headache, so intermittent fasting really isn't for me.
