Birth Control questions for the ladies

Hey ladies-

Since my son was born exactly 5 months ago, I have had tremendous success with weight loss. I have lost over 60 lbs., and have felt great. I am breastfeeding, but recently got my period back. Suddenly, my sweet tooth is out of control. Around ten o' clock at night, the monster strikes. I know my hormones are all over, but I am so afraid that I'm going to undo all of my hard work! I'm considering starting the kind of birth control pills where you only have a period every 3 or 4 months or whatever. However, there is always the side effect of weight gain from that. Have any of you tried that kind of birth control? Did you gain weight? What is the deal with my out of control munchies at night? This is my third child, and this was the first time I was really FREE from food controlling me. I don't want to wind up controlled again :( Should I start on a different kind of birth control? (Also, I have tried depo in the past, and had negative side effects from that, so that is not an option.) I feel like I need to go on birth control to curb my hormones- this isn't even bad week and I'm still food crazy!
