I eat Grilled Southwest Salads from McDonalds all the time. They're only 320 calories but they've got 9 grams of fat...
I had Stouffers Chicken Teriyaki tonight. Half a package (which is made for two) is only 310 calories and 5 grams of fat. Plus it's DELICIOUS. lol.
Another thing that works great for me is Taco Bell's Zesty Chicken Border Bowl. As long as you make sure to order it FRESCO, it's just 350 calories, 8 grams of fat, and I am very full once i finish eating it.
I am the queen of the lazy so anything quick, easy, and right out of the package is right up my alley. Lol.0 -
those are all good ideas for snacks but what about meals? I don't mind opening a bag, box or can and heating it in the microwave. But those little 10oz meals aren't going to cut it for me. I'll bake some fish now and then and even cook some rice. But that's about it. What else is SIMPLE to make....like 3 ingredients or less and doesn't take more than 10 or 15 minutes to cook.
3 egg omlette
takes 6 minutes too crack stir and cook
add veggies, cheese, deli meat, or if we go out to eat i will save some of my chicken of beef to add in the omlette the next day0 -
My favorite lunch lately has been a can of tuna (about 100 cals), add in some dill relish (0 cals), a tablespoon of Hellman's Canola Mayo (45 cals) and some garlic powder. Scoop it on to Special K Multi-Grain crackers (90 cals) and you're good to go!! A delicious 235 calorie lunch and very filling!!0

Mmm, I do that, too! I'll have to try putting a dash of garlic in it - sounds like it may give it a nice little zing.0 -
I would go to Costco and pick up some chicken breasts and some sort of fish fillet (salmon, tilapia). They come singularly packaged and super easy to put into a pan. Also, get a George Foreman grill. It was the best wedding gift I got (I don't like cooking either). I also love sweet potatoes. In my grocery store (Vons) they come srink wrapped and all you have to do is stick them in the microwave. Its super easy. yogurt, trader joes reduced fat salads are great, raw nuts, protien bars and fruit.
Hope this helps!:bigsmile:0 -
100 calorie packs, microwave popcorn. I can not find laughing cow cheese, I want to try it.
Laughing Cow is AWESOME. I get it at Safeway.
i get it at safeway too. they have it in the cases near the deli with the other fancy cheeses. you know- the flavored cheese balls, the tiny packages of extremely expensive exotic cheeses-that section.
the garlic/herb lowfat ones are delish! and super good used as a sandwich spread instead of mayo-0 -
low fat pita, toasted, top with Newman's Own marinara, low fat cheese, tomatoes, green pepper - whatever veggies you want, or deli meats - put in oven on 350 til cheese melts - GREAT pizza - healthy, low cal
I buy Louis Rich heat and eat meats in the meat section - their roast and meatloaf are good. Also, Lloyd's BBQ shredded chicken is delish on whole wheat bun. Buy all your breads whole wheat -
Also, several Banquet frozen dinners are equal or less calories than a lot of the diet meals and half the price - sodium not so great, but just cut it back in other areas
I love, love, love steamer veggies in the frozen section and the frozen roasted potatos - I think the brand is Azteca?
my thoughts.....:flowerforyou:0 -
I don't know if this is too much for you but Whole Foods has great pre-cut veggies. I buy zucchini and some organic tomato paste, part skim mozzarella and sprouted grain torillas. Throw that all together and bake for 20-30 minutes and it's only 350 calories and 7 grams of fiber and a whopping 25 grams of protein. It's yummy! Also, at WF they make some frozen burritos bean, cheese and rice for 310 cals and they have some other frozen dinners that are low cal but healthy. If you don't have a WF these things are sold at other places too.
Great thread btw, I'm a bit lazy as I'm so damn busy.

How about incorporating some easy prep, cleanish foods? Like already prepared salads (bagged salads). There is a product called broccoli woky that you toss in the microwave and steam in the bag. Don't even have to open it a little bit. The roasted chickens that are available in the gourmet, or deli section of most grocery stores, and sometimes you can buy turkey breast cooked this way, or pork loin or (here we are stretching it) ribs! Usually you can ask for them w/o BBQ sauce. Anymore, there are usually quick prep or meal solutions, etc in the grocery stores. You will spend a little more, but I guess you pay for the convienence.0

:drinker: Has anyone tried Burger Kings Veggie Burgers? they're great any only about 300 calories!!0

Another awesome thing :
Light Campbells soups
SO FEW CALORIES!
The one i'm eating now is 100 cals for the whole can.0 -
Yep, I'm bumping my own thread. :glasses:
I've gotten some good ideas and was hoping there might be even more out there.

Wow... I thought I was the only one eating out of my freezer. I get so busy sometimes, I have to choose between cooking a real meal or getting my workout in. I choose the workout and something that comes out of the microwave.
My favorite heat and eats...
Lean Cuisines or Smart Ones
Trader Joe's frozen burritos
Campbell's Select Harvest soups
Trader Joe's balela salad (heated) with a little greek yogurt and pita chips
If you want to cook and make it quick...
Quesadillas
Flavored cous cous with frozen broccoli and canned chick peas
Frozen mushroom or squash ravioli with a gorgonzola cheese sauce (the sauce is way easier than it sounds)
Fried egg sandwiches on toast with laughing cow cheese
Van's frozen waffles with morning star farms sausage, strawberries and lite syrup0 -
wow im the same way! I love tyson chicken breast fillets because you can do so many things with them, i use fat free cheese and make chicken pizza, chicken tacos, chicken noodle soup over homemade mashed potatoes (i cant believe its not butter is amazing!), and just plain ol chicken, add spices and it tastes different every time, my spice rack has multiplied since i started eating better! Some other quick favs are 100 cal honeymaid cheesecake bars, orange sherbert(fat free!), fat free cottage cheese, whole wheat bagels, dry corn pops or yogurt burst cheerios, kraft sugar free jello has amazing flavors, try dulche de luche! I effing love applesauce and it fills me it, lean cuisines, smart ones, healthy choice cafe steamers have amazing chinese food, and this is just a small fraction of whats out there, some foods you may think are bad arent, spend time reading labels and trying things out, im always excited when i discover a "comfort food" im able to make healthy. Good luck!!!!:flowerforyou:0

:drinker: Has anyone tried Burger Kings Veggie Burgers? they're great any only about 300 calories!!
Yeah, those are yummy and my version of a cheat day, hehe. Also lean pockets and Morning Star stuff.
As for regular "unclean" food, I use soy protein powder and make shakes with frozen fruit and fiberone cereal :noway:.
Oh yeah, orowheat's whole wheat muffins, tofutti cream cheese, and Vanilla Silk Soy Milk.0 -
Do you ever use a crock pot? It is my ulitimate 'lazy' cooking tool when I need to cook for my family but can't or don't want to put out much effort. I take the frozen skinless boneless breasts and thighs, plunk them (still frozen) in the crock pot with a variety of things and 15 min of prep turns into a dinner that actually looks like you did something! I have a recipe for a whole chicken in a crock pot, talk about lazy....open chicken, place in crock pot, salt, pepper, spices..done. That with some steam in the bag veggies, instant rice..tah da! I use recipezaar.com for alot of my recipes, I have found you can sub the frozen chicken breasts most of the time with good results. I can post some of my fav recipes if you are interested. :flowerforyou:0

not sure how much of this would fall under being unclean...
scrambled eggs with onions and cheese, grilled chicken snack wrap with tomatoes and hot sauce (would someone please explain how even something as basic as scrambled eggs can gain calories by being made at a mcdonalds?), pretty much any frozen veggie with some cheddar cheese soup on it
there's some others i can't think of at the moment.0 -

 Yea, sure, as soon as someone explains to me how they get 200-300 some odd calories in a tiny bag of salad dressing.:noway:0 -
I am a huge fan of cooking ahead. For an investment in a couple hours on a Saturday or Sunday, I make a pot of brown rice, or boiled potatoes, and store them. Then during the week, grill, grill, grill !!
I throw zuchini and summer squash and boneless chicken on a KEBOB stick and grill it for 20 minutes, nuke my taters or brown rice, and eat like a queen.0
