Running with sore muscles

I started a new cross training workout on Tuesday, and I am pretty sore from my waist down yesterday and this morning. I am a runner, and run about 12 to 15 miles a week. I would like to go for a run this morning, but I'm not sure if I should rest my muscles another day. I didn't work out yesterday, and I'm only thinking about running an easy 2 to 3 miles this morning. Any suggestions?

I actually think the run will loosen you up and make your sore muscles feel better. I kind of have a rule of thumb - when I'm sore, I don't lift but I still do cardio.0

go for it! it will help work the soreness out. just take it easy and make sure you stretch well after.

Go for an easy run. If it goes from "sore" to "painful" then maybe take a day off.0

You know your body better then anyone. Go for a run. If you're not feeling our after five minutes, turn around and go home.0

Thanks everyone. The run certainly helped, but it's probably one of the most difficult one's I've had in a while!! I didn't realize how used to just running my muscles had gotten. Hopefully the cross training will pay off in my runs this year. Thanks again!0

The first half mile is usually uncomfortable for me when I feel sore like that. Afterwords though my muscles loosen up and generally feel better.0
