Running with sore muscles

I started a new cross training workout on Tuesday, and I am pretty sore from my waist down yesterday and this morning. I am a runner, and run about 12 to 15 miles a week. I would like to go for a run this morning, but I'm not sure if I should rest my muscles another day. I didn't work out yesterday, and I'm only thinking about running an easy 2 to 3 miles this morning. Any suggestions?

My initial instinct would be to go for it. You'll eventually have to teach your body to get used to the added cross training (btw - good for you! Excellent for runners to cross train!!) so, at least in the beginning, you will be a little sore. Each week will get easier. I think one day off to start should be fine and you can try to get those 2-3 miles in (if you get too tired, just cut the run short...but at least you taught your body to expect a run after that cross training).
