A Day Off

Does anyone take a day off? Either once a week, or once a month?
By day off, I mean eat what you want - but not in excess! And get all those bad foods out of your head!
I've seen some success stories on here where people that have had a weekly day off have still successfully lost weight at a decent pace. Yet I've seen others say that they feel they are just undoing all their hard work from the rest of the week.

Thoughts?

I don't take a regular day off. But if I want to eat something bad I do, but I always (mostly) log it - keeps me accountable. I did cheat and not log properly over christmas and put weight back on. I think it's fine to go over on calories once in a while though, life's too short for denial after all !!! Treat days now and then make you feel that you are not depriving yourself. But I would definitely suggest moderation and perhaps being mindful of what you are eating as you don't want to undo all your hard work!!

I definatley take a day off I think you have to, if you didn't youd lose sight of your goal and probably end up going backwards. Personally I look at my weight loss in stages of mini goals and its good to reward my hard work at the end of the week and rest on a Sunday before I start it all again on Monday.

I don't eat to excess though but I can sit there and eat a pack of five donuts and then nosh on some white mice (chocolates) while playing on my PS3

Maybe I do eat to excess :ohwell:

I just really want pizza! But not just any pizza - a specific one from Asda and it probably has like a trillion calories, but I know I'll cave one day and get it so isn't it better to pre plan and have it on a day off?

This sounds like I really have no will power - I do! Its just this one thing ...
Oh apart from those Malteser Easter Bunnies, they're back in the shops and I swear I could live on them.

I've only just started on again but I am planning to have one kind of day off a week, on a saturday I will still count, but have something a little bit more unhealthy....I think it can work for a lot of people because otherwise you can just obsess over unhealthy foods and how you are depriving yourself, before you know it, for me anyway Ill be binging myself!
