Eating Natural

Although I've lost a lot of weight so far, I've done it by eating JUNK. I've had a diet heavy in canned soup and frozen dinners. My calories were kept low, but having such a high sodium, high saturated fat diet isn't going to get me anywhere! Everything I was eating before was artificial and full of preservatives.

My first of the year 90 day goal was to only eat natural, whole foods. So far, it's going great. I'm NEVER hungry, I have more energy, I'm getting more calories (I was eating around 700 before) I was really focused on just losing weight before, no matter how unhealthy it was. I'm trying hard to focus now on being healthy and feeling good.

I'm hoping my 90 day challenge for myself turns into a life long change.

Good for you! I have been slowly trying to get out the processed foods from my house...it's hard with 4 & 6 yr old boys at home,a nd a husband whose metabolism is through the roof!! But, we are making more changes daily...I am mostly trying for health reasons, I have asthma & a rare autoimmune rheumatoid disease...so, for the new year, I am trying to mostly eat whole unprocessed foods, and am cutting out gluten and dairy to see if that will help with my health issues... Fatigue is such a huge issue for me, I really hope there will be some improvement with that!

    Good luck!!

Good for you! A smaller, starving body is not heatlhy! I try to eat mostly whole, plant-based foods, add me if you want and you can look at my diary if you ever get stuck!

Thanks. My diet is also mostly plant based, and I think I'm going back to a vegetarian lifestyle (I was a vegetarian a few years ago), but this time doing it RIGHT... you know, with actual vegetables and fruits, instead of junk. It'll probably end up being more of a pescatarian diet though, because I have a major sushi weakness!!!

Up until now, I've had the mindset of "I'd rather be skinny and unhealthy than overweight and healthy" but now I'm thinking what's the point of being skinny if I'm going to kill myself getting there!

that's absolutely true, being skinny sucks if you are starving, weak, and miserable! and if you keep eating all these yummy whole foods I doubt you will have any problem with your weight....might take a bit for your body to adjust that's all. I also have an undying love for sushi! I eat vegetarian pretty much every day but vegan is hard because I love dairy! I just try to limit it.....I'm not sure what I'd call myself, I guess just a concious eater! I love how I feel eating a plant-based diet!
