sprained knee and need to work out SUGGESTIONS?

I have a sprained knee it happened about 2 weeks ago and it isnt fully healed . I have a eliptical that i am gonna try and do slowly until my knee is fully healed but what else for cardio can i do that wont kill my knee and burn a lot of calories? I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT!

If you have access to a rowing machine at the gym you could try that. Could alternate with some straight arm or bent arm planks.
Also, when I hurt my knee I did a lot of swimming which is really easy on your joints and is really good cardio. Just let your upper body do most of the work and do small controlled kicks with your legs.0
