My husband eats what I eat. He's healthier when I cook healthy. He eats junk when he's not home, so I figure healthy food at home gives him some balance.

I cook but he doesn't like eating out at all. He only eats certain foods, mostly fried and starchy so it get difficult. I continue to try putting healthy twists on them and he keeps catching me do it lol. He needs to develop an appetite for healthier foods!!!

Me too....We have pretty much been "healthy" eaters since we have been together because he has cholesterol issues. What I have learned since joining MFP is portion control and my husband is getting on board with that as well!

My husband cooks healthy meals for me! ha ha...it's opposite here. My husband loves to create recipes and when he's dieting, he never cheats. I, on the other hand, love convenience foods and processed crap. Trying to change my ways!

I make our meals healthier altogether and he eats them but he needs to really eat wayyy more than I do because he is underweight and exercises all the time (he is in the military)

For dinner I cook one meal and everyone eats it. If DH doesn't like it, he knows he can make his own. I deliberately try to make only enough for the 3 of us so that while his portion may be bigger than mine, it isn't a whole pound of pasta. If I do make more food (for leftovers or something) I box it up right away. My husband is lazy so he doesn't want to take the time to get it out of the fridge and heat it up...usually because he's not really hungry. For breakfast I'll make him and my daughter the same thing and I eat my oatmeal, mostly because I like oatmeal. Lunches are usually just sandwhiches or leftovers from dinners

When you cook, only cook enough for that meal for the two of you. If there is less food, he can't keep loading up his plate. I have done this for my husband and he definitely knows one portion is all he is going to get.

I'm lucky, my hubby prefers healthier foods over fattening ones. He will eat whatever I make, and cooks as healthy as I do.

I try but boyfriend loves junk food. When I make things I make them healthier versions and he partakes....he doesn't mind. I have told him if I make all the food if he would eat it but he loves his junk food. Not gonna force it on him. let him figure it out and find it on his own...:-)

I can cook it....doesn't mean he will eat it! He does ok, just won't touch vegies unless they are carrots, corn, potatoes or spaghetti sauce (boy can you hide stuff in there!). He has an aversion to fruit too...once in a while I get him to eat apple sauce or drink OJ but that is about it. He does take his multi every day though! LOL

since I have started eating healthier and I do all of the shopping my husband does eat healthier. This does not mean he eats everything though--he hates most veggies, the ones I know he wont eat/try again I cook seperate and add to my meal. Other veggies that he will tolerate but not eat plain I use in stir fries and as long as there is enough sauce to cover the taste he doesn't complain.

I am lucky that my husband enjoys my cooking. And I do gets some foods that I won't eat or limit myself from eating that are just for him-like his icecream.

I am the cook in my house, and I prepare healthy meals for my wife, a notoriously picky eater. Since I am eating low-carb, and I do not expect her top be, it is often as simple as puting a potato in the oven or a small side of pasta on the stove.

When my wife likes the healthy meals, I am more likely to cook them for the both of us. It's taken me a while, but I've found ways to cater to her tastes. She used to dislike salad, for example, but now prefers it to a starchy side once I top it with a little bit of crumbles bacon and a chopped egg.

Yes! Yummy dinner- baked sole from farmer's market. Season with extra virgin olive oil spray, garlic powder, lemon pepper, paprika. Bake 25 mins at 325. Squeeze 1/2 lemon juice, add 4 table spoon Pace Mild Salsa. Eat with Kirkland Organic Chips (14 chips=1 serving). 275 calories. 1/2 of the filet goes to me, 1/2 for my husband :)

My bf is a total junk food junkie, but I cook healthy dinners so he at least eats one healthy meal. I also try to make him lunch if I can to keep him from going to a fast food place. He is skinny as a rail, but skinny doesn't always mean healthy! Luckily he will eat whatever I cook, but if I don't cook anything he will eat junk :/

    ETA: Dinners are usually:
Baked chicken breasts, Fish, or Ground turkey burger patties+ Brown Rice, Potato, Corn or Beans+ A veggie (usually broccoli, spinach, peas etc). I occasionally switch it up though and make like whole wheat pasta with veggies or homemade chicken stir fry.

Lunches are usually leftovers from the night before or a sandwich plus carrots or fruit.
