Hi all,

I've been a member for a few months, but have never posted an intro. I'm a mom of two and I have multiple jobs and a husband... and an ex-husband, but who is really counting here.... so I'm busy :)

I am a writer and blogger (www.redwritinghood.ca) and I started a new career in emergency services last year after having a miscarriage and making the decision with my husband to definitely not have anymore kids. So I joined the Canadian Forces Reserves (Army Reserves) and became an EMT on the civilian side.... and lost about 30lbs preparing for all of that.

I also made a really good friend, my trainer Zac, who is kind of like the big brother I always wanted :D He's encouraging but at the same time is very clear that he's not here for motivation, only I can provide that... he just provides the guidance. I do his web site (www.smashconditioning.com) and try to go as many times a week as possible. It's hard with so many jobs, one kid in hockey, one in dance... yadda yadda... I'm not complaining about being busy as I (usually) love it.

I was really sick in Nov/Dec and put on abouat 6lbs, I refuse to feel bad about this because I'm so happy to be feeling happy and healthy again....

I recently wrote on my blog about The Resolutionists I see at the gym and I am just wondering.... when did you all realize you were really finally living a healthy lifestyle? When did you realize you weren't on a diet and were actually just living healthy and getting strong?

I think I figured this out last spring when I'd get so excited to go to the gym and sweat. It was like I was going on a date or something, I was just so excited to go... and I still get that some days. (Not all days, I am married to working out now... you know what happens then, lol...)

I also figured it out when I went on my basic training for the army and realized I was the oldest (I turned 34 when I was there... some of the kids there were 17!) but I wasn't the slowest! Getting up at 0430 each morning for a 5k run before you've done anything is not my favourite thing to do... but it did help get me in pretty good shape! I also think we marched for about 2 hours a day, surprisingly hard... something I'd equate with racewalking.

I didn't know I had muscles in my butt... until last summer...

Anyway, if you've read this far, please feel free to add me as a friend -- I like to encourage others and be encouraged... :)
