Anyone Else Restarting After a Fitness Slump?

Just wondering if anyone else out there is restarting after being in a fitness slump or rut recently. I have taken 2 months off of running after completing a marathon in October -- partially for rest, partially because of the holidays, and also being sick with colds/viruses. I'm waiting for this latest cold to go away before I start running again and I begin training on Jan. 22nd for a half marathon in April.
So, if you've been in a slump, too, what did/are you doing to motivate yourself to get going? To keep yourself motivated? Are you trying anything new? Are you going back to what's tried & true and has worked for you in the past? Do you use mental motivators like inspirational quotes posted in places you see them, or reminders on your phone/computer?
I don't necessarily need a boost right now because I'm practically itching to run again! But I just wanted to get some conversation started and maybe get some new ideas & thoughts. What are your thoughts about getting over that initial "hump" after you've been inactive a while?
