Hi, I'm Mark. My wife bought me a trial membership to her gym for Christmas. I've been steadily gaining weight since college. Her gift was the push I needed to embrace a healthier lifestyle. I've only started this week, so I really hope I can maintain the enthusiasm and excitement about being healthy.

I guess its my OCD nature, but I'm tracking every single calorie in my Food Diary and think its fun. My choice of food has drastically changed since seeing what the impact is on my nutritional goals.

My goal is to shed the 20 pounds I've lost over the last 6 years and then build some muscle mass. For now I'm fashioning my nutritional goals after the P90X Fat Shredder phase (50% protein, 30% carbs, 20% fat). Its hard! But I'm working on it and the Food Diary makes it easy to see where I can tweak my food choices to better meet my goals.

Invite me as a friend if you are in a similar situation and want some encouragement (Lord knows I need the encouragement!).
