Have you guys noticed as you started losing weight/been in the groove for a while of healthy living... when you see ads about "LOSING 30 LBS IN A MONTH! A POUND A DAY!" or other bogus bs... it kinda upsets you?

Once even my dad (who's notorious for doing crash diets and losing twenty pounds a month... D:) was asking how long it took me... and when I said I started back in April he lost all interest in my weight loss plan because and I quote "it took too long..."

Or is it just me? I think it's crazy that I use to be like "Oh I wish I could be signed up for that... I'd love to be skinny in a month!"... I'm so happy that I chose to do it the healthy way and lose at a good pace!

I think it bothers me more to see the people who come here and join and then starve themselves. Not that it's any of my business, but because I have been down that route many times and eventually failed, I wish they could learn from my mistakes. Again, not possible, but it does make me sad.

the one that irritates me the most is the commercial for lipozene.... there's this lady on there who's like 'you can't do it on your own, you know, you just can't'.... I'm like yea, maybe your weak as* can't but I have done it on my own!! ;)

If, when I started this journey, I knew it would take me three years to get here, I'd have quit back then. Three years sounds like forever. But now I'm glad it has come off slowly. I think my skin has recovered better and tightened up nicer than it would have if I ripped the weight off in a fast way. I know someone who lost more than a hundred through weight loss surgery, in under 8 mos. She weighs a lot less than she used to...... but the results......I'm not jealous.

But now I remind myself that the time is going to pass by anyway, and if I keep making tiny steps in the right direction I'll get there eventually.

I think when folks are in a big hurry they undermine their own success. Impatience is not anyone's friend....

No offense, but if your Dad did more than 1 crash diet, it obviously didnt work. Men can lose faster than women too, so comparing yourself to him or those paid people on TV will drive you crazy.

Im not sure if its true or not, but all those diet fads, who have amazing befores and afters, take pictures of people in wonderful shape, and then have them gain weight to take their "before" pic. Dont believe everything you see on TV is what I think.

I think you lost your weight the RIGHT way, and congrats on your success!

I know what you mean I have added a few (mainly girls) people on here, and they'd always eat under 1200 calories, or barely anything! By the way some of them didn't even need to drop a pound... and I'd see them posting things like some skinny teenager saying "oh I hate how fat I look in this picture..." blah blah... It's sad to see people who don't appreciate what they already have, but even worse to see them ruin in with their unhealthy habits.

Thank you! I know what you mean... my dad is just one of those people who never learn it seems :P I told him it's healthier n stays off better when you lose it gradually n not in one huge lump sum!

The thing that annoys me more than anything is when someone is like "I *have* to use pills/crash diets cause nothing else works" I wanna say don't you realize that if you are *still* using them they don't WORK EITHER!!! I have never ever seen anyone lose weight from crash dieting. (because they gain it all back)

Or when people say, "Wow, you look good...what are you doing"... when you tell them they look at you all weird and totally lose interest///// It's like they want you to tell them some crazy off the wall something...or some magic pill... *eye rollage*

I'm a firm believer the slower you lose it the longer it stays off. I lost 80# in the late 1980's and kept it off for 10 years...I didn't do any fad diets just watching what I eat & exercise. Why does that seem so hard for so many people? The satisfaction of knowing you worked your tail off to achieve it is worth it!

We are all worth it!!
