I don't think it is Red meat so much as it is the amount one eats. I eat red meat less now than before, but still several times weekly. I eat eggs daily and always have. I have low LDL and high HDL even at 150lbs overweight. I don't think anything is bad for you unless you consume it in crazy quanities. It was not the porterhouse that got me morbidly obese, it was the 24oz portions that did it. Now when I have steak its a 6 or 8 oz portion and 64lbs down counting it's portion control that is working for me. I refuse to give up anything and I'm a omnivore that leans more towards a carnivore appetite. Bring on the red meat!0

I was totally confused when my doctor told me to work more red meat into my diet-- turns out due to lupus-related iron deficiencies and anemia I needed all that "bad stuff."
He also told me to lose weight in the same appointment, so I found that confusing at first, but I'm making it work.

Here's my own opinion based on reading entirely too many peer-reviewed studies: Red meat is actually good for you and saturated fat fears are basically hype.
This. Plus my understanding is that now cows are fed corn and given antibiotics and hormones so grass fed and organic beef is more beneficial because of the omega's. I love grass fed beef, tastes great!0
