Hello all,
I have just joined MFP in the last few days.... well the 1st of Jan 2012. I weighed myself then and then i weighed myself this morning....6 days later and i have lost 3kg (7lbs) I am presuming that this is a fast amount to lose, is it normal doing this way of eating? will it continue?
I have just started going to the gym with my mate Serena. Went last night and this morning.... I'm really hoping that because i have just given up smoking that the gym and eating my amount of calories will help me out to lose my 20 is kg.
So is it normal to be fast or will i end up slow

Hi
I lost pretty fast in the first 2 weeks then it kind of fluctuated for another cpl of weeks and eventually settled out at still a fairly large loss, per week (but I am super heavy and do shed loads of exercise, so get insane burns).
I think I lost about 8lbs in the first 4 or 5 days, then another 6lbs in the following few days. Now at a solid 4.5lbs per week.
Cheers
EDIT: Most (more normal sized) folks will be shooting for 2lbs or even 1, per week. I expect to be at -2lbs per week, within the next cpl of months.0 -
i was 207lbs to start with..
sorry am from New Zealand and find pounds weird to work with... i was 95kg and now 92kg....
I would love it to keep going like this, but i'm guessing that realistically it wont0 -
I started VERY fast.
And after 2 weeks, things slowed to 3 lbs per week, and I was horrified. I wondered what I was doing wrong?
And then things settled into a 1lbs per week loss with stops and starts along the way to reaching my goals.0 -
Yes the 1st 2 weeks you drop alot of water weight and then it slows down quite a bit actually!0

It should normally start out fast, i lost 2kg this week also my first few days back after Christmas so it is more the body being shocked I think, you will find that it will become a more stable loss with some periods where you do not lose anything at all, this is normal.0

It was steady for me.. just enough to keep me going, but no big jumps anywhere, not even in the beginning. It was almost predictable, each week losing a pound to a pound and a half over nine months or so.. since then I leveled off.0

On the beginning i lost 5 kg in about 2 weeks but then it started to slow down :ohwell: i was loosing about 1 kg in a week, sometimes less and now im stack  but i believe ill start loosing again soon as im zig-zagging0

its normal for the first few weeks, especially week one. you should try not to focus on the weight your losing hun because the weeks where your only losing 1 or 2 lbs it may put you off, it's permanent lifestyle changes that allow you to have permanent weight loss. good luck x0

so all normal then
thing is when i have lost weight before...i get to a certain stage where i dont lose and dont gain and sit there for ages.... but it isnt my goal.
I am hoping the gym will also help with this weight lose, along with keeping in with my calories and not going for that chocolate fix!0
