Does this happen to you?

I've always heard that if you exercise (especially running) your appetite will be somewhat dulled. I guess I never really noticed before, because I never paid such close attention to my eating/exercise, but now on my 3 workout days a week I am significantly hungrier than the 4 days I don't exercise. (By the way, I used to exercise 6 days a week until I hit a major--2 week-- plateau, and in dropping the 4 days I got back to losing. I'm planning to add back some exercise when I hit my next plateau.) I know it is not just my imagination, and I always listen to my body now and eat a few extra calories on those days--because I now have learned I have to listen (Thanks MFP!)

So....I'm not mentioning this as a problem, per se, I just wanted to know if others out there have experienced the same.

yes, yes, yes. I am always hungrier when I exercise. My problem is that I overcompensate. I know that I earned exercise calories back, and end up going way beyond what I should. Anyone else have a similar problem, or have advise?

I'm WAY hungrier when I workout! The best way to avoid not overeating is to plan ahead. I pack my breakfast, lunch, and all of my snacks at the beginning of the day and try to figure out what I'll have for dinner so that I can input it all into MFP and know exactly what I will be eating for the day. I also intentionally enter about 150 fewer calories than my HRM says I burned just in case I slip or need to really have an extra little snack.

YES. I am "hungrier" when I don't exercise. For me it's because excerise allows me to burn off any stress, anxiety, pressure I may be feeling. When I don't exercise I want to eat to relieve the stress/anxiety. I didn't even realize I was doing this until I stepped back and asked myself,"Why do I want to eat right now? Why did I feel so much better yesterday?" Then the answer hit me like a Mac truck....

I am the opposite!! if I don't exercise 7 days a week I am hungrier but if I exercise 7 days a week I'm not.

I am hungrier when I don't exercise which really confuses me. It's obvious that I need to exercise so I eat less....

    Go figure

I'm most definitely hungrier when I do work out. Which makes sense because my body is burning more calories.

OT: I'm a huge Arrested Development Fan. Nice pic.
