You don't get any calorie credit for weight lifting??

So I'm new to this...I just started putting in the weights I did today and am not seeing any calories burned for it...is this normal?

You have to look up 'strength training' and add in the total minutes you spent under Cardiovascular exercise. As far as I can tell, the weight lifting exercise section is just there so you can track your progress.0

The calories burnt in the Cardiovascular exercise - Weight training is so off though, its way under what you really burn.0

Yeah that's right, its just there to keep track of your strength training.0

I use either Strength training (weight lifting, weight training) or Circuit Training, general under the Cardiovascular section. The Strength Training section is only to track the actual exercises you did with reps and weight.0

Pretty crazy that you calorie burn for other "normal day" things like cleaning and even sex but not for strength training!!! I know I totally work up a sweat and burn cals when I lift!!!0

Usually when I weight lift or take body pump. I don't add them in. I use that as "Extra" calories burned for variances. Weight lighting will help boost the metabolism. I can tell I get hungry faster and must remember to eat more lean protein when I do my weight lifting for the week.
I took December off mostly cause of schedule conflicts from weight lifting and started back this week, there are days when the muscles are recouping that I am just plain hungry.....
Today Im taking Body Pump and CXWORX combo class - going to wear my HR monitor to see what the calorie count is.0 -
I remember reading somewhere on here (maybe in FAQs...) that they don't count the calories for strength training because it's really hard to get an accurate estimate of calories burned while lifting weights. It depends on a lot of factors like how strong you are and how long you rest between sets among other things.
There is some sort of general strength training in the cardiovascular section. The strength section doens't have all the types of lifting I do so I add the general one in the cardio section when I lift more so that I have an accurate record of what I've done for excercise than for the calories.0 -
