Cheese makes my eyes sweat!

Just had a piece of cheese with my dinner and this happened again. It starts with under my eyes and my cheekbones sweating (tingling and damp :ohwell: ) then goes to my brow bone.
It seems the stronger the cheese the worse the effect.
This happens to my sister but with tinned tuna.
Can anyone explain why this happens/ what it is? :flowerforyou:

Sorry I can't help, but that is terrifying. Especially if you love cheese - that'd be awful for me

That happens to me with hot sauce because its spicy. is the cheese pepperjack or something. Sounds like a small allergy but you would think milk would do it too if you were allergic

I know that happens to people on monoamine oxidase inhibitors because they can't break down the tyromine in cheese, which has the same effect on the nervous system as adrenaline. So when people on those meds eat cheese, it causes their blood pressure to rise and their heart rate to increase - and it'll cause them to sweat.

I dunno if that helped, because it only makes sense if you're on one of those medications.

    Sweaty eyes? How random!!

Maybe try goats cheese or lactose free cheese?
