I've always heard that you should get 1g of protien for every 2 lbs of your weight. I've lifted twice and run 3 times a week for the last couple of years and always shoot for that ratio. I just joined MFP to drop some holiday gains and noticed the daily protien goals seem really low, I would think you'd lose a lot of muscle mass if you follow them.

Generally, I've seen 1g protein per pound of lean body mass recommended the most. But the recommendations vary based on who you ask, what your overall body composition is, and what your goals are. Yes, MFP has the protein goals set very low.

I changed my MFP percentages since they were completely backwards for me.

    I now use 40p/30c/30f . I aim for 1g protein per 1lb weight - not 2.
I also use 45p/25c/30f quite often if I seem to be on a plateau - lower carbs has always worked for me.

This is what I have read

Take your weight and divide it by 2.2
    ie 130 / 2.2= 59

Then you multiply that number but 1-1.8, depending on how hard your weight training sessions are.
    ie 59 x 1.8 (Heaving lifting)= 106
So with this I would consume 106g per day to fuel my lean muscle mass
