Only 4 lbs lost in 2 months :(

I just checked my progress and although I've lost 7 lbs all together w mfp I've really only lost 4 lbs in 2 months. kinda a bummer because I've been logging between 1200 cals, and (every once in a while) up to 1800 cals. There were only a few days like that and with me being more active in general i would have expected to lose weight a lot quicker. I've even had the scale go up a lb or two so it makes me even more discouraged that im not really losing anything. My sil is doing her 3rd round of the hcg diet (the homeopathic version) and im almost ready to give that a shot. Deep down though I feel that would only be a temporary loss and I would probably gain it all back ten fold. Tell me "Is this the wrong route?" I am not a big excersicing person so I guess If I started doing more of that I would probably lose faster. I just really don't think I can stick w it like I can to a good diet. Can I lose weight faster w out excersicing all the time? I walk or do housework(or some other active stuff) about 4 times a week btw.

You got a Nook? If so pick up the free book on there called "Lose Weight Without Dieting". In there they talk about how exersize is more important than watching what you eat. Basically, if you just watch what you eat, in the beginning you'll lose the weight. But at some point it will all even out again and you'll see the weight drop slower and slower and slower. Then no weight loss and you'll still be eating less and less. What you need to do is exersize and work hard at this in addition to healthy eating. Get on an exersize bike and really work as hard as you can for a half hour a day to an hour a day. You'll see the weight drop off again in no time.0

First of all, be happy with the fact that YOU- through your own efforts lost 2lbs per month and that is a good thing. Secondly, be mindful that your weight loss achievements are not always seen through a weight scale. You might want to use "inches" as a means to determine your positive progress. Arnold , use to stand in front of a mirror regularly , take a picture and compare .0

I only lost 4 pounds as well in 2 months, but don't let it get you down, at least we didn't gain them0

Right there with you. I only lost 6 lbs in almost three months now, and I workout 3-4 times a week. It's frustrating, but I feel like if I stick with it then eventually I will HAVE to start losing. I think doing it the right way just takes longer, and not all our bodies react as quickly to the change.0

Sometimes, you just have to stop looking at the scale (for your sanity, trust me!:) Even if you haven't lost weight, you may have toned up...and remember that gaining muscle adds weight because it is more dense than the fat it replaced...and finally, no matter how "little" the number may be, it is still a loss, so keep up the good work, I know you can get to where you want to be! Add me if you would like, I would love to help you0

A loss in weight is always a better feeling than that of a gain! Be proud in that you managed to get throough the holidays with a deficite. Thats excellent!.. I dont know the quality in which your calories arrive from but maybe it is time to re-eval what you are taking in and how you are burning it up. Start by tweeking some items.. Cut back on a few daily favorites and replace with a lower carb/sugar content. Kick your excercise routine up by about 10 -15 min every day.. You may just need to kick start your engine to get out of first gear and into second. Like a car engine the fuel you feed it and how you maintain it is how it will perform for you.0
