:flowerforyou: hi i joined here this week and have lost 2lb woop woop im just wondering how many calories you give yourselves each day and how much weight u have to lose.
I have given myself 1700 cals and want to lose just under a stone x

    I have 1200 a day and I want to lose 57lbs

    Your going to see a lot of opinions on the site that's for sure, I'd suggest you research something called your BMR ( basal metabolism rate ) , this is the minimum required to keep your organs and vital functions working correctly. It's different for everyone, using myself as an example it's around 2200cal per day after exercise and that's just to keep myself alive and healthy.

    I was lucky and was able to get it professionally tested in my town but there are some resources online to help you determine a ballpark for you. 1200 may be just fine for you if you have your BMR confirmed and it's telling you that 1200 is what you need to keep your organs going.

    Keep in mind your doing this for the long haul, you want to get rid of fat tissue and replace it with awesome muscle tissue, the weight itself is trivial, you want to become healthy not skinny ( although in the end they may be the same ;) )

    Thanks for that information on BMR NBEric. I'll look into it because I am unsure of how many calories I should be consuming. For right now I realized that I take in only about 1000 or so calories and so far MFP says that that is too low so this BMR thing can give me more healthy number options.
