New MFPers over 60 in need of advice.

I have some questions in regards to MFPers that are 60 years of age or older.
My parents are both retired as of 2 years ago and they are both overweight. My wife has been on MFP since Summer of 2011 and has had wonderful results and I just started doing MFP, making the transition from a low carb diet and having lost 29 pounds. Though my wife has had lots of success, she predominantly knows what works best for her. I on the other hand am considered still “learning the ropes” and adjusting accordingly with good success thus far.
This last holiday with my parents, my wife and I discussed MFP with them. As of the new year, both have logged daily and are fully engaged. They have a treadmill and are both starting off easy, walking 20-30 minutes per workout and doing it every other day. They both also have a firm understanding to not go over their allotted calories and to log everything. Both are also under the impression to eat their workout calories too, though, based on recent discussion, they have relayed that they are still being left with deficits to which are hard to take in by the end of the day.
But, despite my wife’s knowledge of MFP, and my understanding as well, I wanted to seek any advice from someone who is also 60 years of age or older who started the program and has had wonderful results. I am simply looking for precautions that they should be aware of that my wife and I cannot provide.
Any help would greatly be appreciated!

I'm re-starting and impressed with your loss. Although I may not be a big support for you......I know you have done a great job. The parents (like me age wise) need to realize how good MFP can be. Have them "friend" me and we can suport each other. My results are yet to come.......0
